From Oct 2012 - March 2014, Rebecca was Managing Director of Busara Promotions, the NGO that organizes the annual Sauti za Busara music festival in Stone Town, Zanzibar. She was primarily responsible for producing the 2014 edition of the festival with Festival Manager Rhoda Isaacs, as well as overseeing the formulation of the 2014-19 Strategic Plan.

Sauti za Busara has been recognized by media including BBC, CNN, Afropop Worldwide, and Songlines Magazine, among others, as one of Africa's top music festivals.
